April 2013 Chapter Meeting
This month we will be discussing the different aspects of real world cyber security operation, incident response, insider threats, and the development of the daily cyber intelligence report to track actionable critical security events against internet and insider threats. In addition, a discussion on the best practices and technical controls for preventing and detecting insider threats, investigating a malware download and callback, and a discussion on intelligence feeds to correlate your local data. This session focus on the operation of SIEM, network forensics, malware detection systems, and other security devices.

Bob Cheong is the CISO for Los Angeles World Airports and is responsible for information security at LAX International Airport, Ontario International Airport, and Van Nuys Airport. Bob has fifteen years of information security experience and specializes in cyber security operation, security auditing, business continuity planning, and computer forensics. During his tenure as CISO, he has successfully implemented a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operation Center, implemented an IT COOP Plan, and received an impressive security audit finding from the Los Angeles Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Panel. Bob has recently won the CSO40 Award with his security initiative “Daily Cyber Intelligence Report – Insider Threats” by CSO magazine.
Bob holds a BS degree in Computer Science and a CISSP and CISM certifications. He is a member of the governing body of the Southern California CISO Executive Summit and LA INFRAGARD Chapter.
