Topic: Terrorism and Mass Violence: Today and Tomorrow
Terrorism and mass violence share similar tactics, techniques and procedures, and today share every increasing regularity both at home and abroad. Understanding this threat, particularly the ways we can identify suspicious activity and pre-incident indicators, are crucial towards prevention and mitigation of the danger it poses. Hal will explore the threat, to include recent attacks, then look at suspicious activity indicators that everyone can understand and utilize for themselves, and for helping others also implement. More trained eyes and ears, and reporting of possible threats, means we have more opportunities to connect the dots before deadly attacks. In addition, new modes of attack such as drones, vehicle ramming and even cyber add to the number of things we must understand and be prepared to counter.
